The ACE Claims Event, held in Las Vegas from June 1st through the 3rd, provided interesting opportunities for understanding both the complexities and challenges of compliant claims processing, as well for exploring possible technological and other support solutions.   Attendees first benefited from an in-depth briefing on the National Insurance Crime Bureau’s by its president and CEO, Joseph Wehrle.  He outlined key elements in the focused and combined efforts of several groups in combating insurance fraud.  Augmenting this keynote address were four sessions on claims fraud, with those presentations run primarily by insurance company staff.  Insurance companies also shared success stories and challenges in upgrading claims processing systems.  Additional sessions were made available to attendees in the areas of litigation management, attracting, retaining, and improving the performance of claims adjusters and employees, as well as regulatory compliance issues in today’s insurance market.
