The AICP Annual Meeting, held in Phoenix this week, provided opportunities for all to learn about the challenges facing the insurance industry in 2009. Insurance department personnel shared perspectives with the other attendees through “Regulator Roundtables”, “one-on-ones” and panel discussions. The AICP truly exceeded their goal of providing attendees with timely information and workshops, along with opportunities for professional development with its in-depth coverage of key insurance compliance issues and challenges. From diligence in suitability of annuities sales and compliance issues in the senior market to understanding federal requirements under ERISA and Medicare Secondary Payor Reporting Requirements, the event’s program and presenters provided greater insight into today’s issues and sent insurance professionals back to their companies armed with shared information and perspectives.
