The New England Chapter of the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals held their 13th Annual Education Day on May 15th in Norwood, MA. A comprehensive slate of topics was covered including those generally applicable to all lines of insurance such as Privacy, SERFF, Consumer Affairs and Complaint Management, a Financial Strategies and Market Update and Top Regulatory Concerns at both the federal and state levels. Specific life insurance sessions covered the Interstate Compact and AML legislation and training. Property & Casualty interests were met with presentations on Surplus Lines and the impact of Bankruptcy on insurers and policyholders. Special Hot Topics sessions, featuring insurance department regulators, provided current insight into issues in their represented states.
