The AICP has developed an excellent agenda for their 23rd Annual Conference “Trail To New Frontiers” in Dallas from October 3rd through the 6th.  With over seventy general and break-out sessions, attendees have many opportunities to learn about the latest updates in product filing issues, health care reform, social media, the Interstate Compact, fraud control, advertising, AML, MSP reporting, MCAS, and the always popular “regulator roundtables,” along with many other specific compliance issues affecting the industry.  With so much state and federal focus on the insurance industry this year, and the years to come, I hope that many will be able to take advantage of the AICP’s tremendous efforts in bringing all these compliance sessions together “under one roof.”  I am very fortunate to be sharing information in one of the sessions on the “Top 10” market conduct criticisms for life and health insurers.  We will take a look back at some key examples from 2009, with updated examples from this year, as well as a forward look to 2011 and some possible additional market conduct compliance challenges.  Potential trouble spots for market conduct compliance will be reviewed, with a view towards some practical options.

Editor’s Recommendation:

AICP registered attendees received an email last week from us providing an opportunity to share their thoughts on risk management. If you have completed the survey, please don’t forget to bring your prize code to the exhibit to find out what you have won. If you have not taken the survey, there is still time!

I had the priviledge of hearing your top 10 for P&C critizisms in Atlanta in July for our AICP meeting. Very informative, so I can only assume that your L&H will be worthwhile for anyone writing in those lines. Good Luck – I look forward to seeing you in TX!
